The Daytona is the latest in retinal scan technology, it uses two lasers of different wavelengths and a mirror to take a scan of the back of the eye, or retina, without requiring eyedrops or dilation. It even allows eye doctors to save images of the retina.
It can take color or fundus autofluorescence images, which allows to see the patient’s retina at a very detailed level (from the retinal pigment epithelium to the choroid) apart from the lipofuscin in the retinal pigment epithelium.
