The visual field test is a medical examination required to rule out possible alterations in the visual field.
Why the test is performed:
With this procedure, it is possible to evaluate the patient’s peripheral vision, diagnose and detect the loss of or early alterations to the nerves in the retina, optic nerve and visual pathway. It is of vital importance in the diagnosis and follow up of glaucoma.
How it is performed:
It is a non-invasive and short test in which the patient only has to press a button when he or she identifies certain stimuli provided by the analyzer in his or her peripheral vision.
How to prepare for the test:
No preparation is required for this test.
